Introduction

At 38, I think it's a great idea to think back on the things I've done, accomplished, failed, and really have a deep dive on how I experienced life. I think this is an important aspect of life to review and determine your progression and what you want in life.

info

Life is about living. The idea of life is to experience the whole breathe of it.

What Matters

I'd like to start with what matters in life and I think it's as everyone says, no one on their death bed wishes they had worked or accomplished more. The thing that is most important in life is the time you spend with family and friends. Again, with life I believe you should experience all aspects of it: the good, the bad and even the ugly. It builds our life and it builds our character. Experiences are very important so I believe everyone should travel a lot more than they do because it gives you a better view on the world and how it operates.

Interesting Places

If you believe travel is part of your life, I think you should try to visit as many places as possible. Below are places I've been to and really enjoy.

  • Red Rocks Amphitheather (Golden, CO) - Amazing place for concerts
  • Whistler (Vancouver, BC) - For skiing and snowboarding, it's just amazing. Huge bowls and just really long trails.
  • Cayman Turtle Centre (West Bay, Cayman Islands) - Ever hold baby turtles for fun?
  • XPlor (Cancun, Mexico) - Best place to try zip lining, you will literally do for a couple of hours

Countries

Definitely try visiting these countries as a whole

  • Singapore - Lots to do and see. It's just a wonderful country in general.
  • Thailand - Cheap but amazing food.
  • Vietnam - Ever try to cross the road while feeling like you'll get ran over but not actually get ran over by a motorbike?
  • Malaysia - Some of the nicest people I've ever met in the world.
  • Indonesia - Ok, the whole drink cat poop coffee isn't as a thing as you may think.
  • Portugal - Beautiful country, wish I spent more time there.
  • Italy - If you avoid the tourist areas, you can find some very charming areas.
  • Greece - I only went to tourist historical areas but it's amazing what has remained from what was built.
  • Turkey - Why does everyone want to sell me a piece of carpet?

Countries On My List

  • Japan - Pack three suit cases, come back with them full of snacks.
  • Korea - I want to try a Korean bath house. Crack an egg on my head to eat it and take a nap.
  • India - I have a friend in India, at some point I need to come visit him.

Entertainment

Music will bring you daily joy. Try to go to concerts, festivals, and any place that has music and you will find how people enjoy life. My interest in music has ranged everywhere from classical to all the crazy subgenres of electronic dance music. I just think a lot of effort goes into making music and people can really voice their thoughts on life in their music.

Relationships

At this point in my life, I'm single and still searching for an intimate relationship. I have fostered the greatest group of friends from Colorado through Florida and they are the best support system I have. Now I don't think it defines my life to have an intimate relationship but I think it's still a priority in my life.

tip

Avoid dating podcasts and dating social media. Approach it as yourself and you will keep your sanity.

Now here's the fun part of life, I have two nieces and a nephew who I adore massively. They actually FaceTime me all the time and we have some of the most fun conversations even though they are just kids. I also really enjoy having fun conversations with my parents. These days I do try to call as many as I can to just check on them and see how life is for them. I think you can really foster great relationships just through initiation. Be the first to call, call often, and you'll find you'll have more interesting conversations in general.
