Project Memorable

Photography was a hobby I picked up right around highschool. I started with a Minolta Film Camera. At the time it was quite the expensive hobby because well, you had to get all your film developed and photos printed.

From my Minolta Film Camera, I moved on to my Sony a500. It was a starter camera but it was able to produce digital prints. It wasn't great but I was interested in learning how to manipulate light and shape cool photos.

The third camera I came in to use became my professional Nikon D700, a 12 megapixel camera with a ton of features. This camera really got me into photography from learning One Light from Zach Arias to portrait photography from Peter Hurley. I would take courses from Joe McNally who shot for National Geographic. From there I bought studio gear, portable lighting gear, and attempted to do modelling shoots. It was fun but without a backing, it was not possible to me to make a good living from photography alone.

Sometime in 2024, I started Project Memorable and bought a Nikon D800. It was a beast of a camera and to this day, it's still a very good camera. I tried doing wedding photography and baby shoots for awhile but again, it just didn't pay very well. As a hobby, I loved it, professionally, it was straining me so I shut the company down and moved on.

These days I do photography and even videography for fun. I think it's an interesting way to make art but I also think it's limited in it's value. We live in a social media world and unfortunately, photos don't retain their value as they once did.
